It's been a long time since Korn were interesting or necessary. After their debut temporarily changed the world of metal, it's been a case of ever decreasing circles and recycled riffs.But maybe having to assess their position after the departure of guitarist Brian "Head" Welch has forced them into trying to find some relevance in their continuing musical existence. And to an extent they have. By moving part the way into the world of dance!Co-written and produced by The Matrix, this takes the patented Korn sound and gives it a good shake up to see if anything worthwhile is tucked away in the pockets.Loops, keyboards, samples - you name it, it's there, and it's actually OK. The chorus is written with rock radio in mind and is a memorable one, bit it is very polished, something their remaining fanbase might find too shiny.
As a first taste of upcoming album "See You On The Other Side" (released on the 5th December) it's a bold move, one they had to take if they had any kind of future.
